School Board - April Meeting Change

The Candia School Board meeting previously scheduled for Thursday, April 3rd, has been moved to Thursday, April 10th at 6:00 PM.

Curriculum Night - Date Changed

Curriculum night was scheduled for May 7th. However, 5th grade will be at science camp that week. The date has been changed to Wednesday, May 14th, from 6:00 to 7:30 PM so that everyone may be included.

Great Healthy Snack Ideas

Have these healthy staples on hand at home to help make better choices for breakfast, lunch, snack or dinner.


  • Fruits and vegetables that can be eaten in bit-size pieces, such as orange sections, grapes, pineapple chunks, baby carrots and grape tomatoes.
  • Frozen vegetables, such as edamame (soybeans), peas and broccoli
  • Assorted dried fruit, such as apricots, cranberries or raisins, to use in a trail mix
  • Nuts, such as walnuts, almonds and dry-roasted unsalted peanuts, to use in a trail mix
  • Their favorite dressing for dipping
  • Low-fat or nonfat vanilla yogurt
  • Reduced-fat cheeses, such as Cheddar cheese and string cheese
  • Whole-wheat pasta
  • Eggs (Keep them on hand for fast omelets or egg salad.)
  • Whole-wheat crackers

Central Freshman Registration

8th graders attending Central High School can access their Program of Studies at http://central.mansd.org/program-of-studies.   Registration forms need to be signed by teachers and students.  Completed forms need to be submitted by Tuesday, 4/1.  Any questions please contact Ms. Jarvis at pjarvis@sau15.net or 483-2251 x1008.

Tai Chi Classes

Tai Chi classes will be held at the Moore School during Thursdays, April 3, 10, 17 and 24. 3:15 to 4:30. The cost is $80.00. Call 230-7300 or register online at concord hospital.org

Candia Scholarships Available On-Line

0Candia Dollars for Scholars (CDS) is pleased to announce a new on-line application process. Parents and students now complete all necessary information to apply for CDS managed scholarships at www.candia.dollarsforscholars.org. Similar to the Common Application for college admission, this one-stop location for local scholarships also makes available national scholarships managed by Scholarship America.

Scholarships managed by CDS include options for high school seniors, current college students and adults returning to post secondary education.  Applications must be complete by the closing date of April 30, 2014 to be considered.

2nd Quarter Honor Roll

Moore School 5k Fun Run-Walk

There will be a 5k fundraiser for the 8th Grade Washington DC trip on March 22nd at 10:00 AM. Registration price before March 19th is $15.00. Registration after March 19th is $20.00. All runners and walkers are welcome! Enjoy good food after your workout in the school cafe. Get a T-Shirt while they last, register early!


Please mail this completed form to the address included within to register. Registration on race day starts at 9:00 AM.

Drama Club

Our drama club will begin again soon and we're looking for club members!  The goal of the club is to introduce the students to all aspects of theater production and possibly hold a performance for the community.  Drama club is open to all students in grades 3 through 8.
