Programs
The PTO strives to support and enhance the education of the students at the Henry W. Moore School by organizing fundraisers, student events, family events, staff appreciation and school enrichment programs. If you would like to volunteer to assist with any of the following programs, please contact a member of the Executive Board. Your participation is always welcome.
Fundraisers
Fall Fundraiser
Our annual fundraiser is held at the beginning of the school year. Details are sent home in your child's Friday folder.
Box Tops For Education
The Henry W. Moore School receives 10 cents for each Box Top coupon. From 2002-2009, we have raised over $8,300.00 by participating in this program! The PTO holds Box Top competitions throughout the year and past winners have received a small prize, such as a Webkinz or a class ice cream party.
Hannaford Dollars
The Henry W. Moore School receives "School Dollars" when you buy participating products at Hannaford Supermarkets. This program occurs at the beginning of the school year.
Campbell Soup Labels
Help the Henry W. Moore School receive FREE merchandise by clipping the UPC Code from participating products, including Campbell's , Spaghettio's, Pepperidge Farm, Swanson, V-8 and Prego. This program runs throughout the year.
Wine & Beer Tasting with a Silent Auction at Candia Woods
Enjoy a fabulous evening tasting wine and beer, sampling appetizers and desserts, and enjoying great music. This event occurs in early November.
Events & Committees
Popcorn Tuesdays
Every Tuesday popcorn is provided to the students and staff for $0.25 a bag.
After-School Crafts
A free craft offered several times throughout the year for grades K-3.
Movie Night
Several times a year, we offer a newly released movie in the gym of the school for FREE. There’s a small fee for snacks and drinks.
Ice Cream Social
During Open House, we offer ice cream with all the fixings. (September)
Teacher Appreciation Week
Each day we honor our hard-working teachers and staff with gifts, surprises, and well deserved thank yous! (May)
Holiday Gift Shop
A low-cost store set up in the school so that EVERY student has the opportunity to purchase gifts for their family and/or friends. (December)
Mother’s Day and Father’s Day
Gifts are offered at a small fee so that ALL students can give their Mom and Dad something special. (May/June)
Spirit Day
School-wide end of the year field day. (June)
Old Home Day
The PTO sponsors a booth for this fun and wholesome town-wide event held each summer. In the past, we have sold popcorn and snow cones. (August)
Enrichments
Candia Moore School Family Directory
Each year, the PTO collects contact information for participating students and their families. For a small fee, you can purchase the directory and have access to addresses, phone numbers and email addresses of your children's friends and peers.
Artist In Residence
In 2008, the Artist In Residence worked with the Candia Moore students to create the beautiful tiled mural that is on the wall across from the office.
Candia Dollars For Scholars
Each year, the PTO awards a $1000.00 scholarship to a student of the Henry W. Moore School who is attending college the following year.
Read Across America
During this week-long event, the PTO hosts and organizes events to encourage children to read. Read Across America is a national event that occurs on or around March 2, the birthday of Dr. Seuss.
Gift Of Reading
The PTO donates $1000.00 each year to help replenish our library.
PBIS Rewards Support
Teacher Reimbursements
At the end of the school year, the PTO gives each teacher up to $50.00 to help cover the cost of school supplies.
Community Service
The PTO assists and/or organizes community service projects whenever possible. Examples include the Cub Scout charter, the Playground fund and the Road For Hope.
Annual School Gift
The 2008 school gift was the front walk mat, a blue and white mat displaying the words Henry W. Moore Home of the Lancers. Past gifts include a defibrillator and the school sign.
